Understand Forex Copy Trading.
Explore a trading arrangement where eligible client accounts can replicate selected trading activity from a designated Master Account through a supported platform.
What is Copy Trading?
Copy trading is a system in which trading activity from one account, commonly referred to as a Master Account, is replicated in another account, known as a Client Account.
The replication process is facilitated by an authorised trading platform or technology provider.
Depending on the platform, clients may have access to different settings relating to trade allocation, account configuration, scaling parameters, and copying preferences.
How Does It Work?
The essential architecture bridging trading origins to client accounts.
Master Account
The designated trading account from which trading activity originates.
Client Account
The client's individual trading account connected through the supported platform.
Trade Replication
The platform attempts to replicate eligible trading activity from the Master Account to connected accounts.
Account Monitoring
Clients can review their own account activity and available trading information in real time.
Important Considerations
Key variables that every participant must evaluate prior to connecting.
- Copy execution may differ between accounts: Execution speeds, latency, and broker routes can vary.
- Market prices can change during execution: High volatility periods can cause order fills to shift.
- Spreads, commissions and slippage can affect results: Differing fee schedules between brokers directly impact net performance.
- Different account balances may produce different outcomes: Minimum lot size rules and fractional rounding may adjust position sizing.
- Platform availability and technical interruptions may affect copying: Server outages, internet drops, or maintenance windows may impact synchronization.
- Losses are possible, including substantial losses: You should never allocate funds you cannot afford to lose.
